Just FYI, when I shop electronics I always do research about the company history, bang for the buck factor and the overall feel/quality of the build. Asides from this, tops contenders in this area were the philips, audiovox, some generic online, RCA and Sylvania. Let's just cut to the chase -Pros: - decent screen..not gloss surface for clarity but a matte screen but surprisingly good picture for the money - Sound/volume is decent. Depending on how much road noise you get - my 03 Honda pilot was quiet enough that 3/4 volume was good enough for even me to hear nicely. Don't expect BOSE surround but consider these are portable little units - It comes with mobile mounts! It's a H-harness type out of nylon weave. There are adjustable strap - snap lock buckles to secure the flat base to the headrest. Then there are 2 velcro straps on each side that fit though strapping points on the body of the TVs. The player is attached to a flimsy cardboard back which is then used to strap to the headrest. The straps literally go around the DVD player, so you have to remove the straps in order to change DVDs. The door for the DVD opens about 30 degrees, from the top so it's tricky to actually switch DVDs as you have to reach over the top of the player in order to change it. I've not had it long enough to make any judgement about the longevity issues but I can't imagine these were built to last if they didn't even take a minute to assess the usable design. There are plenty of other players out there and you'd be far better off picking a different one. |
